I remember reading Dr. Montessori's cryptic books filled with flowery language over 30 years ago during my Montessori certification and training. The lesson from 1912 brings me back to the excitement, hard work, and efforts to translate and understand Montessori's books into everyday, modern language. It was a life changing event that helped me change how I viewed myself, children and the world. Montessori wanted adults to look inside themselves in relation to their ideas about children. Her understanding of the unique way children learn and their important place in society were one of Montessori's greatest contributions.
