Montessori used the term Cosmic Education to describe what is now called the Great Lessons. They are continually introduced during the grade school years. They are used to inspire learning and research. The Great lessons are introduced and the students pursue key lessons associated with the Great Lessons.
For example, the study of geology is a great key lesson for the Great Lesson, God Who Has No Hands.
